Armed Robbery suspect was arrested by the Kano State police Comand after a report was receiving complain from the victim Musa Ahmed of Rimin Kebe in Kano metropolis. The Command’s PPRO Abdullahi Haruna Kiyawa has disclosed.
The victim Musa Ahmed was contacted by one Abubakar Jibril, of Danbatta LGA, through Facebook by the suspect Abubakar informing him that there is a vacancy for him to participate and feature in a popular Hausa Film titled “Kwana Casa’in”, explaining to him that he should pay the sum of Two Hundred Thousand Naira after which they negotiate and settled at Seventy Thousand Naira.
The suspect deceived and lured his victim to Danbatta LGA where he collected the money and they spent the night at his residence.
The victim on waking up in the morning decides to take back his money when started suspecting that it was a fraud.
Abubakar conspired with his friend, one Abdullahi Yellow alias ’’Horror’’, attacked the victim by using a sharp knife, robbed him of his two Mobile Phones, attempted to slit his throat and push him inside a deep Well.
He narrowly jumped over the fence and escaped with cuts on his neck and rushed to Danbatta Police Station.
The police on receipt of the complaint immediately rushed the victim to Danbatta General Hospital, where he was treated and admitted.
The Commissioner of Police, Kano State Command, Sama’ila Shu’aibu Dikko, raised and instructed a team of Operation Puff Adder led by CSP Ubangari Usman Shehu to arrest the culprits.
The team immediately swung into action while credible intelligence led to the arrest of the prime suspect, Abubakar Jibril, aged 30. On investigation, the suspect confessed to the crime.
The Commissioner of Police Dikko, ordered for discreet investigation and arrest the fleeing suspected accomplice.
The CP urged residents to pray for the State, the Nation and report incidences to the nearest Police Station and not to take laws into their hands.
Rigorous patrol, raids of criminal hideouts and black spots will continue throughout the State, as the Command will sustain the ongoing “Operation Puff Adder”.
