The Kano State Police Command revealed that it is necessary to suspend the traditional annual performance of Tashe in view of security of lives and property of citizens of the state. The Command’s Spokesman, SP Abdullahi Haruna Kiyawa has revealed.
The local celebration cum performance of Tashe begins every 10th day of Ramadan Fasting period.
The suspension is due to hijacking of the performance by criminals disguising under the pretense of “Tashe” to carry out criminal activities, such as Thuggery, Handset Snatching and Drug Abuse.
The Command, Therefore, put security measures in place to tackle the activities of criminals.
The Commissioner of Police, Kano State Command Sama’ila Shu’aibu Dikko, called on the people of the state, especially Parents and Guardians to warn their children not to indulge in any act of breaking law and order stressing that Anyone caught will be dealt with according to provisions of the law.
