Ministry of Agriculture and Natural Resources has taken delivery of 7nos trucks procured for Zamfara Agricultural supply company (ZASCO) by the state Government.
While Inspecting the vehicles at the Fertilizer transit depot samaru Gusau, the state commissioner for Agriculture and Natural Resources Ibrahim jibo disclosed that, the Government conceived the idea to purchased the vehicles based on it’s conviction that they will serve as an easiest and alternative way for Government and farmers to transport Goods and services within and beyond the state at subsidies cost.
He noted that, with the supply of the vehicles the company is preparing to be financially independent and rake additional revenue for the Government while further advising the company to extends it’s operations to cover more States across the country.
jibo commended the foresight of the Managing Director for making such proposal to the Government and equally charged the management of the company to evolved more ways to assist farmers in the state
In his presentations, the Managing Director of the company Alh Abdullahi Ado, informed the commissioner of the intended purposes of the vehicles which includes transporting fertilizer and other farm inputs within and beyond the state, conveyance of pilgrims luggage’s from Airports to Gusau Hajj camp during annual Hajj operations, and collaboration with Ministry for disaster management and other agencies to transport relief materials to victims across the state.
Ado assured the commissioner of the company’s readiness and commitment to make the best use of the vehicles, he equally thank the State Governor, Bello Matawalle for approving the purchased of the vehicles for the company.
The Commissioner was later conducted round the warehouses belonging to the company assuring the Managing Director of doing everything possible to fix the dilapidated structures of the stores
