43 People, Perished In Goronyo Bandits Attack, Says Tambuwal

Fourty three people have been confirmed dead in the wake of the attack by bandits on Goronyo township in Goronyo local government area of Sokoto state.
Gov. Aminu Waziri Tambuwal of Sokoto state gave this clarification after due diligence on figures of those that died in the Goronyo market Sunday attack.
Earlier in the day Gov. Tambuwal had put the figure at about 30 when the Chief of Army Staff, Gen. Farouk Yahaya paid him a courtesy visit.
“The number of people that died in Goronyo. I did say it was above 30.
I wasn’t categorical about the figure.
“We just finished a meeting with some stakeholders and I have confirmed that we lost 43 people unfortunately to that incident.
“May God Almighty have mercy on their souls,” Gov. Tambuwal said.

October 5, 2024Two weeks notice has been issued by the Federal Capital Territory Administration (FCTA) to 3,273 allottees who are mostly top government officials serving in the current administration of president Bola Tinubu with threats to revoke the Certificates of Occupancy of plots of land they owned.
Also affected are prominent individuals and corporate organizations. Notable individuals affected include are high-ranking government officials,
Former governors,
Serving and former lawmakers and
Prominent business leaders.
The FCTA’s move according to the notice is aims to address infrastructural development in Maitama II (A10) District. Landowners are advised to settle their bills promptly to avoid losing property rights.

Kano CP Decorates 181 Newly Promoted Officers, Hosts Vice Chancellor Bayero University

August 15, 2024Kano State Commissioner of Police, CP Dogo Salman, has emphasized the importance of commitment, professionalism, and clean records in achieving promotion as he decorated 181 newly promoted senior police officers.
CP Dogo Salman charged the officers of the command to redouble their efforts in ensuring the protection of lives and properties in the state. The beneficiaries, who were promoted from Inspectors to Assistant Superintendents of Police (ASP II), were part of the recent promotion released by the Police Service Commission (PSC) on 29th July 2024.
The newly decorated ASP Jacob Yadume, while speaking on behalf of the promoted officers, assured the command of their commitment to discharge their duties professionally and in compliance with the rule of law.
The commissioner, during his lecture with supervising police officers, expressed gratitude to the Inspector General of Police, IGP Kayode Adeolu Egbetokun, the Police Service Commission (PSC), and the Force management team. He commended the officers for their efforts despite recent security challenges.
In a similar vein, CP Dogo Salman hosted the Vice Chancellor of Bayero University, Kano, Prof. Sagir Adamu Abbas, and his entourage at the Bompai Police Headquarters on Wednesday.
During the visit, Prof. Abbas commended the Kano Police Command for its “exemplary support” and praised CP Dogo for his effective management of the recent nationwide protests. He assured the command of the university’s continued cooperation and pledged to offer assistance whenever needed.
CP Dogo expressed his delight for the visit and reaffirmed his commitment to fostering a strong and cordial relationship between the Police Command and the University. He appreciated the university’s support and cooperation.
The visit was concluded with a mutual pledge to continue working together. The occasion also featured an exchange of souvenirs as a symbol of strengthening friendship and cooperation between the two institutions.
